Service Projects – Community

The Concordville-Chadds Ford Rotary Club Big Hearts for Brighter Futures is a program that defines many of our community projects – we help the children of this community.

A specific objective is assisting the parents of our community to meet the physical and emotional needs of our children.  Our goal is to pick up where other assistance leaves off. When a family feels embarrassed that they cannot buy their children gifts for celebratory occasions, if they need the help of a summer camp or sports camp which would be therapeutic for the child, but the family can barely make ends meet, we are here to help.  Our club is partnering with the clergy of the Concordville, Chadds-Ford, and Chester Heights areas to guide us to those who might otherwise go unserved.

Big Hearts coverage includes:

  • Holiday Support

  • Back to School

  • Summer Camp

  • Emergency Support  —  for local families experiencing job loss, fire, or other catastrophies

Other projects that serve our children are:

  • Support for the Rachel Kohl Community Library

  • Dictionary Project – Providing dictionaries to 3rd graders

  • 4 Way Test Speech Competition – encouraging ethics and public speaking
  • Mel Drukin – Garnet Valley Strive program – Encouraging struggling students to excel

  • 4 Year Book scholarships for college students

  • Darlington Arts Center

  • Concord Township Community Playground and Gazebo

  • Camp Bournelyf – special needs camp
